Is it Legal?
In 1996, CHEERSPORT introduced LevelPlay, the system of offering multiple divisions based on skill level, to the competitive cheerleading world. Over the years, LevelPlay continued to mature and be adopted by other companies and served as the foundation for USASF Cheer Level Rules. CHEERSPORT's leadership in this area continues today and it could be argued that we have more in-house expertise on the intricacies of USASF Level Rules than any other event producer in the industy.
While we've always invited our customers to submit video clips of skills that they are concerned might not fall within the rules for their level, we felt like we could do more to share our knowledge in this and other areas to a broader audience. Our first step in this direction is the introduction of "Is It Legal?" - your chance to submit video clips of your questionable legality skills and have them answered by the team of Legality experts at CHEERSPORT.
Submitting a question is easy - just fill out the form below, upload your video and hit submit. Your information and video will be forwarded to a CHEERSPORT LevelPlay expert for review and they'll be in touch typically within 1 to 3 business days.
There is one catch - a key goal of offering this service is to share our knowledge with the larger competitive cheerleading community. One of the best ways we can do that is to share the answers we give to you with everyone else via a special "Is It Legal?" channel on our www.CHEERSPORT.tv website. The focus of the clip will be solely on showing all of our customers interesting and pertinant questions we receive along with our answers and explanations. Don't worry - we won't specifically identify your organization on the clip and you always have the option to opt-out from participating in this part of the service.
A couple of rules:
- Only official representatives of teams may submit clips for their own organization. Official representatives include coaches, program managers, gym owners, etc...
- The intent of the clip reviews is to help minimize the chance your team(s) will be penalized at your next USASF event. This service is NOT intended to help you argue against penalties from previous events or to point out penalties that your competitors may not have been assessed.
- Reviewing video clips can be a time-consuming process and the intent is to help answer those questions that have you stumped... not to get a pre-qualification check of every tumble and stunt sequence in your routine. If we find that you are abusing this service we may decline to review clips for your organization.
- Be Patient. There are thousands of you and few of us. While our goal is to contact submitters within 1 to 3 business days, based on submission volume and our event calendar it may be longer.
